FOJ entered a collaboration agreement with Colleen Clancy last fall to conduct medical missions in Jamaica (click here for the story). She met Norda Ratcliff, a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who completed some of her training on the island and has returned to volunteer her services several times since, on the negril.com message board. The 2 have teamed up to conduct another medical mission trip in September 2008. Norda recruited a group of NPs and RNs who will be working in existing clinics, and also conducting field clinics in Westmoreland and Hanover Parishes. Click here to learn more:

Donations to help offset their expenses are greatly appreciated and will be accepted through FOJ. They also have 2 drop sites set up in Negril where they are seeking educational games to take to the schools, and small school and hygiene supplies to make up little ‘gift bags’ to be distributed at their clinics. If you or anyone you know is travelling between now and September 15th, clean out all those hotel samples from your drawers and drop them off to Sue’s Easy Rock Internet Cafe in Mary's Bay or with Jean Gaynair at the Negril Beach Club Condos. Reggae on the Rock III FOJ is holding their annual fundraiser in Rockford, IL at Brewsky's, 4414 Charles St. The Ark Band is returning for an evening of Reggae and Caribbean music.
